K2I sponsors play a critical role in our ability to achieve our mission. From supporting lecture series featuring leading experts in their fields, to funding innovative new research in information technology, generous individuals and corporations help us to do our job better. K2I's mission is to build a community of scholars with complementary expertise to solve complex problems, and with the help of our sponsors, we are able to do this in a variety of ways, through lecture series, luncheons, and other outreach efforts.
Sheafor/Lindsay Innovation Fund
The Sheafor/Lindsay Innovation fund was established in 2001 with a generous gift from Rice alumni Steve Sheafor ('72) and Cindy Lindsay ('73). Activities supported by the fund range from the Sheafor/Lindsay Digital Library Symposium to innovative information technology research in areas as diverse as engineering, anthropology, and music. Individual donors make the K2I Opportunity Fund possible. This fund is used to support a variety of activities: engaging faculty, hosting guest lecturers, and seeding innovative research projects. Read more
Corporate Sponsorship
K2I has a long history of working with corporate partners on everything from sponsoring students for summer research to purchasing new computational equipment. Read more
